Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty, more bottom time and extra safety
Learn to plan Nitrox dives up to 40% O2 and get more out of repetitive dive days
Nitrox is one of the most useful specialties you can add, especially if you love doing multiple dives per day. The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox program teaches you how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. On many dive profiles, Nitrox can increase your no-decompression limits, add an extra safety margin, and often reduce the required length of your surface intervals compared to air.
You will learn how Nitrox works, how to choose the right mix for your planned depth, how to set your dive computer correctly, and how to analyze and label cylinders properly. You can earn the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification after completing the program.
Course Facts
- Prerequisite: Open Water Diver (only if in-water training is included)
- Academic sessions: Online learning

How it fits your trip
This specialty can be done before you go on the boat trip, then you can request Nitrox instead of normal air and do all of your dives with extended bottom time.
