1) Scope

This Refund Policy applies to bookings with ME Diving Khaolak Co., Ltd. for diving, snorkeling, training courses, boat trips, guiding, equipment rental, transport/pick-up, vouchers, and related services (the “Services”), whether booked via medivingkhaolak.com, WhatsApp, email, phone, in person, or through a partner.

This policy should be read together with our Booking Terms. If a partner or third-party platform has different rules (e.g., an agent or OTA), their policy may apply to payments made through them.

2) Key definitions

  • Service Date: the date your activity/course/trip starts.
  • Deposit: any amount paid to secure your place.
  • Third-party costs: charges we must pay to others (e.g., marine park fees, boat seat allocations, bank/payment fees) that may be non-refundable to us.

3) General principles

  • Refund eligibility depends on when you cancel and what has already been reserved or paid on your behalf.
  • Where possible, we prefer to offer a reschedule or credit (especially when conditions are outside anyone’s control, like weather).
  • Marine park fees and certain third-party costs may be non-refundable, even if you cancel.

4) Customer cancellations (standard activities: fun dives, snorkeling trips, day trips)

Unless stated differently in your booking confirmation, the following rules apply:

  • More than 7 days before the Service Date: Full refund of amounts paid, minus any non-refundable third-party costs and payment processing fees (if applicable).
  • 3 to 7 days before the Service Date: 50% refund of amounts paid, minus any non-refundable third-party costs and payment processing fees (if applicable).
  • Less than 72 hours before the Service Date: No refund (amounts paid are forfeited), unless we can resell your reserved place. If we resell the place, we may refund the resold portion minus non-refundable costs.

5) No-shows, late arrivals, and missed pick-ups

  • If you do not show up, arrive too late, miss the boat, or miss pick-up due to your own timing/logistics, it is treated as a no-show and is generally non-refundable.
  • If you are late but can still join safely and without disruption, we may allow participation, but we cannot guarantee it.

6) Weather, sea conditions, and safety decisions

  • Trips may be delayed, rerouted, moved to different dive sites, or canceled due to weather, waves, currents, visibility, mechanical issues, or safety considerations.
  • Change of dive sites / itinerary: This is not considered a cancellation and does not automatically entitle a refund.
  • If we cancel the trip before departure: You can choose one of the following (as applicable):
    • Reschedule to another date (subject to availability), or
    • Receive a credit for future use, or
    • Receive a refund for the Services we canceled, minus any non-refundable third-party costs.
  • If a trip is interrupted after departure: Refunds (if any) are assessed case-by-case, based on actual services delivered and unavoidable costs already incurred.

7) Medical issues, fitness, and refusals for safety

  • If you cancel due to illness, injury, or medical concerns, our standard cancellation terms (Section 4) apply.
  • If you are unable to participate because you do not meet medical/fitness requirements, do not provide required doctor clearance, or do not disclose relevant conditions, this may be treated as a customer cancellation and can be non-refundable depending on timing.
  • If you are refused participation for safety reasons (e.g., intoxication, dangerous behavior, repeated refusal to follow instructions), the booking may be non-refundable.

8) Training courses (Open Water, Advanced, Specialty, etc.)

  • Before the course starts: Standard cancellation terms apply unless your confirmation states otherwise.
  • After the course has started: Refunds are generally not available for the portion already delivered (including instructor time, pool/confined sessions, classroom/theory, materials, certification processing, reserved boat seats).
  • If you need to pause or reschedule training, we will try to help you continue at a later date where feasible. Additional fees may apply if extra sessions are required.

9) Private trips and custom itineraries

  • Private boats, custom schedules, and special requests often involve upfront reservations that are non-refundable to us.
  • Your confirmation will specify any special cancellation rules. If nothing is specified, standard cancellation terms apply, but non-refundable third-party costs are more likely for private/custom bookings.

10) Vouchers, gift cards, and credits

  • Vouchers/credits are generally non-refundable but may be transferable upon request (subject to fraud prevention and verification).
  • Credits may have an expiry date stated on the voucher or in the confirmation message.

11) Refund method and timing

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method where possible, or via another mutually agreed method.
  • Please allow 5–15 business days for processing after approval. Bank/payment providers may take additional time to post funds.
  • Any payment processing fees charged to us may be deducted from the refunded amount where applicable.

12) How to request a cancellation or refund

To cancel or request a refund, contact us in writing and include your name, booking date, activity, and proof of payment (if available):

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version available on our website at the time of your booking request generally applies, unless changes are required by law or relate to safety.
