The full island escape with longtail snorkeling and slow days in the National Park

Three days of beaches, coral gardens, and the kind of reset you only get by staying on the islands

If you want Surin the way it’s meant to be experienced, this is it. The 3 days / 2 nights program gives you time to truly settle into Mu Ko Surin National Park: unhurried mornings, multiple snorkeling sessions across different bays, and that rare feeling of being far from everything, but still fully taken care of.

You’ll start with the classic highlights on Day 1: the first snorkel at Chong Kad Channel, a visit to the Moken village (the sea gypsy community of the North Andaman), then an easy afternoon to check in and enjoy Mai Ngam beach. As the day cools down, you can join a jungle walk to Kra Ting Bay for sunset or simply stay on the beach and enjoy the calm.

Day 2 is what makes this trip special: longtail-boat snorkeling. This lets you reach quieter, beautiful spots at a gentler pace, with time to explore Pak Khad Bay in the morning, then Hin Kong and Ko Stork in the afternoon. It’s a full day of “island life” and water time, without rushing back to the mainland.

Day 3 keeps things relaxed but finishes strong: a final morning on Mai Ngam beach, lunch, then two more snorkeling stops in the afternoon (Bon Bay or Mae Yai Bay, plus Pineapple Bay or Turtle Bay) before heading back. It’s a complete Surin experience: reef variety, beach time, and the simple luxury of having enough time to enjoy it all.

High season (November to April) is very popular and accommodation space is limited inside the National Park, so booking early is strongly recommended.

Tour Location

Surin Islands – Mu Ko Surin National Park

The Surin Islands are part of Mu Ko Surin National Park, a protected archipelago in the Andaman Sea known for some of Thailand’s best snorkeling. Made up of five islands — including Koh Surin Nuea and Koh Surin Tai — the area feels wild and untouched, with calm bays, clear water, and far less “development” than most popular island destinations.

What makes Surin special is how easy and rewarding the water time is: shallow coral gardens close to the beaches, lots of reef fish, and great visibility that lets you enjoy the colors even without diving deep. Many trips include multiple snorkel stops around channels and bays, plus beach time and a lunch break inside the National Park — a full day that feels like a true island escape.

Because Surin is a National Park, the focus is on keeping the reefs and islands pristine. Visitors are asked to respect the marine life, avoid touching coral, and follow ranger and guide instructions during snorkeling and beach stops. The result is exactly what you want from a Surin day: clear water, healthy reef scenery, and that quiet, protected-islands atmosphere you can’t find on crowded beaches.

Price List for Rental & Fees

All rental equipment (snorkel, fins, mask) and park fees are included.

Tipping

Tipping is not required, but it’s always appreciated if you enjoyed your day. If you’d like a simple guideline:
  • Boat crew (day trips): ~100–300 ฿ per guest
  • Dive guide: ~500–1000 ฿ per diver

If service was exceptional: tip more — but always optional.

Booking Requirements

  • For booking a trip, we require: first name, family name, nationality, date of birth, passport number & hotel name.
  • For divers we also need: certification level, number of logged dives, date of last dive, and proof of certification.
  • All visitors must carry a copy or photo of their passport during the trip.

Surin National Park Rules

  • Season: The Surin Islands are closed every year from 16 May to 14 October and open from 15 October to 15 May.
  • No drones: Drone flights are strictly prohibited.
  • No single-use plastics: Many Thai National Parks prohibit single-use plastic items (and foam containers). Please avoid bringing disposable plastic/foam packaging into the park.
  • Reef-safe sunscreen only: Thai National Parks have announced bans on certain chemical sunscreens that are harmful to coral. Please use reef-safe sunscreen or protective clothing instead.
  • Respect wildlife: Do not touch, chase, or disturb marine life. Never stand on coral or the seabed, and never take shells or coral as souvenirs.
  • Follow park staff & boat crew instructions: Rules can change depending on conservation measures and conditions. Always follow the guide briefing and any ranger instructions.

New Thailand Diving & Snorkeling Rules

Thailand introduced stricter nationwide standards for diving and snorkeling activities (effective 22 April 2025) to protect coral reefs and improve safety.
  • Supervision required: Every trip must be accompanied by a certified dive supervisor or assistant.
  • Life jackets for snorkeling near coral: Life vests must be provided and worn when snorkeling near coral reefs (unless the tourist holds a recognized freediving certificate).
  • Mandatory briefing: Guests must receive a briefing on laws, safety, and responsible marine practices before activities.
  • Group ratios: Limits apply to how many guests one supervisor can oversee (different limits for deep diving vs snorkeling/freediving, and for training sessions).
  • Camera rules: Underwater photography is restricted unless the diver is qualified (e.g., Advanced certification or 40 logged dives) and can show proof if requested.
  • Reef distance: Divers must stay at least 2 metres above coral heads, and fin control must be demonstrated before approaching coral areas.
To comply with these rules, reminder: we may limit snorkeling approach to reefs, and we may ask guests to leave cameras on board if requirements are not met. Divers are expected to control their buoyancy for their own safety and the safety of the guide, group and environment.

Booking Deadlines

  • Bookings: latest 18:00 the day before the trip.
  • Cancellations: latest 12:00 the day before the trip.
