The classic island day: turquoise water, granite boulders, and snorkeling at its best
A full-day trip into Mu Ko Similan National Park
The Similan Islands are one of Thailand’s most famous protected marine areas — and for good reason. Nine granite islands stretch like a string of pearls across the Andaman Sea, surrounded by crystal-clear water, bright white sand, and lush tropical scenery. Under the surface you get exactly what people dream of when they imagine “Thailand snorkeling”: colorful reef fish everywhere, coral gardens, rocky reef formations, and visibility that often makes the ocean feel like a swimming pool.
This tour is designed as a true “best-of Similan” day. You’ll visit multiple islands and snorkeling spots, with time to swim, relax on the beach, and enjoy the iconic viewpoints that make the Similans so photogenic. It’s the perfect choice if you want a full national-park experience in one day — easy, scenic, and packed with ocean time.
- Multiple snorkeling stops at different islands/reefs (chosen for the best conditions)
- Beach & island time with classic Similan scenery: granite rocks, white sand, turquoise bays
- Viewpoint stop (Sailing Rock area) when conditions allow
- National Park day-trip style: simple, beautiful, and focused on the ocean

Tour Location
Mu Ko Similan National Park
Mu Ko Similan National Park is one of Thailand’s most iconic marine protected areas — a chain of nine granite islands in the Andaman Sea, famous for crystal-clear water, white-sand beaches, and dramatic smooth boulders along the shoreline. The islands sit about 65 km offshore from Phang Nga province and feel like a true escape: remote, wild, and beautifully preserved.
Snorkeling here is all about variety and visibility. Shallow coral gardens and rocky reef formations sit close to the beaches, packed with tropical reef fish and colorful marine life — perfect for easy, relaxed sessions in the water. Many days bring calm bays for swimming and floating, plus classic viewpoints like the Sailing Rock area that deliver that “postcard Thailand” look in real life.

- No drones: Drone flights are strictly prohibited.
- No single-use plastics: Many Thai National Parks prohibit single-use plastic items (and foam containers). Please avoid bringing disposable plastic/foam packaging into the park.

New Thailand Diving & Snorkeling Rules
Thailand introduced stricter nationwide standards for diving and snorkeling activities (effective 22 April 2025) to protect coral reefs and improve safety.- Supervision required: Every trip must be accompanied by a certified dive supervisor or assistant.
- Life jackets for snorkeling near coral: Life vests must be provided and worn when snorkeling near coral reefs (unless the tourist holds a recognized freediving certificate).
- Mandatory briefing: Guests must receive a briefing on laws, safety, and responsible marine practices before activities.
- Group ratios: Limits apply to how many guests one supervisor can oversee (different limits for deep diving vs snorkeling/freediving, and for training sessions).
- Camera rules: Underwater photography is restricted unless the diver is qualified (e.g., Advanced certification or 40 logged dives) and can show proof if requested.
